Workshop held at Susan Rostow’s Brooklyn Studio
Margaret Craig, Instructor

Margaret Craig – Etched Spores: Vinyl Cut Plate Collagraph. Learn how to transfer your drawings or photographs into stencils, drypoint and collagraph plates using a computer and an electronic stencil-cutting machine.

The Cameo Silhouette stencil machine looks like a printer and is just as affordable. It uses a small blade to cut thin plastic sheets, cardstock, yupo, vinyl, and other materials. This workshop will give hands-on instruction on how to cut and incise your image creating printing plates from this cutting machine. We will explore relief, drypoint and collagraph and give tips for using vinyl for a resist for etched plates and stencils for silkscreen. Participants will print with Akua inks and create intaglio and relief prints.
